Simon Has Questionable Taste

Il Divo has become the most successful international musical break-out story of the past few years, selling more than 13 million albums. Conquering the hearts of fans and the charts of nations all around the world, the group has garnered some 104 gold and platinum awards in 33 countries. Their first two albums, Il Divo and Ancora, achieved 26 #1 chart positions internationally, including at #1 debut in the United States - the only classical crossover album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Their first album was even the highest charting debut album for a UK signed act ever in America.
Il Divo’s next album, Siempre will feature ten brand new tracks – many of them collaborations with Steve Mac & the Swedish team of Per & David. Acting once again as Executive Producer, Simon Cowell targeted, and achieved, a great mixture of classic and new songs. "There is no question in my mind that this will be their finest record to date," he unequivocally stated.
This strong viewpoint is echoed by the band, who all shared a heightened sense of unity and purpose. David Miller offers that "For the first time, we really felt we entered the studio, not as David, Carlos, Urs, and Sebastien, but as IL DIVO…confident and with absolute conviction that we could take our sound to another level." Honing their craft in front of live audiences through extensive touring had a significant effect on the band.
Further, the projected track-listing makes their unbridled enthusiasm understandable. Absolute classics like "Nights In White Satin" and "Caruso," alongside "Somewhere," and "Without You," will find some real familiarity as will a version of the 70's classic "Music," entitled "Musica," that has been specially re-arranged by writer John Miles.
The aforementioned mixture of songs both new & old come in the shape of "Come Primavera," "Un Regalo Que Te Dio La Vida," "La Vida Sin Amor," and "Una Noche."
The prestigious honor of joining Barbra Streisand on tour is a fitting climax to a year on the road for the group, with their debut world tour taking in 86 shows across 69 cities and 18 countries over the past 6 months. Il Divo was also privileged to perform the official FIFA 2006 World Cup song at both the opening and closing ceremonies in Germany with a worldwide TV audience of 1 billion people.Il Divo was formed in late 2003 by "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell, who, after conducting a two-year international talent search, discovered David Miller (USA - tenor), Sebastien Izambard (France - vox populi), Urs Buhler (Switzerland - tenor) and Carlos Marin (Spain - baritone).
