Absentstar's "For God's Sake"

Canvasback Music/Columbia Records is readying the release of "Sea Trials," the major label debut album from the rising young Chicago-based rock band Absentstar.
"Sea Trials" was recorded with producer/musician Dan Wilson at the Terrarium Studio in Minneapolis. Wilson, whose resume includes stints with Twin Cities rock bands Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare, took home a Song Of The Year Grammy in February for co-writing "Not Ready To Make Nice" with the Dixie Chicks. Dan also co-authored two of the songs on "Sea Trials" -- "Waiting Rooms" and "If You Like It" -- with Absentstar.
Other new Absentstar originals on "Sea Trials" include: "Half Life," "Don't Lock Me Out," "Give In To Me," "Everyone You Know," "If What You Mean Is Harm," "A Year From Now," "Quietly Conceited," "For The Moment," and "All Is Forgotten."
Formed in Chicago in 2004, Absentstar is: Derek Ingersoll (vox), Andy Dixon (guitars), Marshall Hanbury (guitars), Heath Hamilton (drums), and Noel Arnim (bass/vox). Drawing from a wide range of influences -- including Radiohead, Muse, the Beatles, the Killers, Coldplay, and Snow Patrol -- the members of Absentstar have developed an uncanny musical chemistry, born from genuine friendship and simpatico. By 2005, the group had written, recorded and released its own indie debut, "To All That Buy In," a sonic manifesto premiering Absentstar's distinctive blend of UK musical refinement and American rock & roll energy.
With "Sea Trials," Absentstar fulfill the promise of the group's indie origins and lay the groundwork for the next phase of a great emerging American rock & roll band.
