Cuts Like THE KNIFE

THE KNIFE US TOUR DATES CONFIRMED

WED NOV 1st WEBSTER HALL, NYC
FRI NOV 3rd MEZZANINE, SF
SAT NOV 4th EL RAY THEATER, LA

Following the release of their critically acclaimed album, Silent Shout, Sweden's The Knife announce plans for its first-ever US tour. This limited number of concert dates begins November 1st – the day after Halloween – with a debut performance at New York City's Webster Hall during the CMJ Music Marathon. Performances at Mezzanine in San Francisco (November 3rd) and the El Ray Theater in Los Angeles (November 4th) follow directly after.

Live, The Knife is more theater than concert. With audiovisuals and set design by acclaimed artist and director Andreas Nilsson, who also shot The Knife’s award winning ‘Silent Shout’ and ‘Heartbeats’ videos, The Knife "create performance art which [does] a brilliant job of complementing a wonderfully eclectic and richly textured sound" (Evening Standard, UK). When the Knife debuted their collaborative performance with Nilsson in support of Silent Shout at London's Scala Theatre in April 2006, the show sold out within just two days – as did subsequent performances throughout Europe.

With a live show The NME hailed as "a distinctly theatrical experience" complete with projection screens, live puppetry, and the band "dressed up as the music" The Knife's US performances promise to treat fans to a chilling spectacle that is as distinct as the music itself: "[After the show] optimistic fans still stand and stare, hoping against hope that the stagehands dismantling the set are just another part of the performance." - The Guardian, UK

Based in Stockholm, Sweden The Knife – who are brother and sister, Olof Dreijer and Karin Dreijer Andersson – create subversive, shape-shifting soundscapes that defy categorization. Silent Shout, The Knife's third album and first domestic release, debuted at #1 on the Swedish charts and was released in the US on Mute Records July 25, 2006.
